Beatriz Arguezo Gonzalez holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Management and is a Registered Nurse and a Certified Community Healthcare Worker. In 2001, she was awarded a government internship through the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) and was stationed in Bay Pines, FL. There, she worked at the Veterans Affairs hospital during the 9/11 attacks.
Beatriz, who has over 25 years of experience in healthcare, hospital administration, and compliance, spent 14 of those years at the Joint Commission in various roles. In 2020, she began working as a Certified Community Healthcare Worker at the Chicago Hispanic Health Coalition, where her mentor and director was Esther Sciammarella. She received extensive training and experience working with the community and applying her healthcare management skills to provide healthcare navigation for Latino community members. After the passing of Esther Sciammarella, the Executive Board appointed Beatriz as the new Executive Director of the Chicago Hispanic Health Coalition, effective May 2026, where she will continue working with the organization’s longtime partners, including the National Alliance for Hispanic Health.
Beatriz’s vision is to expand healthcare navigation and education beyond Chicago to serve Latino communities in the suburbs that lack resources, ensuring equitable access for all. Healthcare and healthcare services are for everyone regardless of background or language. It is important to educate yourself, coordinate care, and navigate your own health. We must work together to make sure no one is left behind. It is our human right!
