Description
PROCEED’s “Building Hispanic/Latino Community Capacity to Respond to COVID19” project seeks to increase the capacity, resources and competencies of select Latino/Hispanic communities at high risk for adverse outcomes from COVID-19, to effectively respond to the pandemic. To achieve its aims, PROCEED will engage trusted national and local Latino/x-identified and serving community-based organizations (CBOs) from across the U.S. in states and communities with high COVID-19 morbidity and mortality rates among Latinos. Our partners will facilitate in-reach to specific segments of the Latino/Hispanic community, assist with the development of culturally competent COVID-19 prevention and treatment messaging , and recruit other local CBOs to join efforts to educate and link community members to a greater network of medical, healthcare and support services that will help mitigate the deleterious impact of the pandemic on the Latino/x community.
Through our national and local and partnerships, PROCEED will support the recruitment, mobilization and training of Promotoras/ Community Health Workers to facilitate message dissemination, reinforce COVID-19 prevention, testing and care, and refer and link individuals and families to essential services provided by trusted local providers.
